Here in my parts of the states (like everything, it varies widely across the country) we have elementary school from 1st-5th grade (so like 6-7 up to 10-11), middle school from 6th-8th grade (like 10-11 up to 13-14), and high school from 9th-12th (about 13-14 up to 17-18, and some school districts are big enough to have a “freshman campus” because they needed more space for all the kids).

And most kids go to kindergarten the year before 1st grade, and some even go to preschool the year before kindergarten as well.

Its just a little pedantic thing I’ve picked up after years of being a sysadmin. In my mind slashes (/) are reserved for directory delimitation and the period (.) is to separate the file name from the file type. I also have a little bit longer of a list of “reserved” characters for other reasons (%, #, and {`}`)

I like dashes because they work better than dots or slashes for file names.

Self hosted tandoor is free. And it’s open source.

And not that it matters, but I’ve moved almost every year since I was about 10 years old. Sometimes multiple times a year. And I’m not going to pretend I’m besties with every single person I’ve ever lived next to but it was also beneficial to be a friendly neighbor.

I’ve been using Busuu and it’s really good. Its really aggressive about asking you to buy the premium version but it has all the functionality you need in the free version so you just gotta ignore it.

I have a self hosted recipe book (Tandoor) and it has a built in grocery list. Its really nice cause I can just click a button and it adds everything I need to my grocery list.

Also some quick googling says an average desktop printer can print about 30,000 pages per month, so it would take 20,000 months (~1670 years) to print that out. And a typical toner cartridge can print 3,000 pages and costs $80, so it would take 200,000 toner cartridges and cost $16 million.

Everyone should be in a state of self-improvement. But sometimes you do need to take a step back and realize that you are orders of magnitude harder on yourself than anyone (that you would want to be around) will be.

You said your friends and family think you’re fun and enjoy being around you. Do you think your friends and family are actually shitty people just stringing you along for the fun of it? Do you trust them in other aspects?

I was talking to a friend about this one time and he cut me off and just said “that’s hurtful man. Why would you say that about me?” and that really gave me some insight. Because I was telling myself “my friends are all fake”, but what my friends here is “i dont believe you are there for me”.

A few years ago Walmart released a line of gaming computers and the ars technica article I saw was titled something like “Walmart released gaming computers and the prices aren’t awful”.

I copied and pasted the title verbatim and the post got downvoted a ton and all of the comments were trying to give me shit for the prices not actually being good (I feel like they were in line with normal prebuilts but oh well).

Gravity pulls down, so when you go towards the North Pole you are actually getting further from gravity and that lesser force still pushes the entire effect into the positive. If you tried this in the south pole you would actually get older!
