He could just go and say/do something that would prevent airing

Then if they take it out it’s been edited

I agree that “either” is more specific. And I don’t mind being reminded of it.

Otoh “any” is defined as ∃ x and every definition I found explicitely specified that cardinality is irrelevant. Either then is a subset of any, not a separate category.

So imho this isn’t a mistake and you’re way more unconditional than you should.

PS: as long that everyone remains sufficiently mutually understandable we should adopt a descriptivist attitude towards languages instead of a prescriptivist one.

PPS: Don’t get me started on language as a class marker. This is a threat. c:

“I will do it if the show airs unedited.”

That’s the best outcome. Therefore he will be a scaredy musk and elon his way out of the show. Hopefully it will be like his attempt to elon his way out of buying shitter and we will get a full unedited interview and at least a couple of people might realize he is so full of shit and a damned junky.

Edit: corrected autocorrect and my own spelling.

If anyone can do this it’s Jon Stewart. I know he’s mentioned on several occasions that he doesn’t have any political ambitions whatsoever, and he’s been true to his word. But sometimes circumstances allow great men to take great leaps, and on rare occasions, do great things.

The fact that The Hill is already running a piece trying to play him off as a comedy star from an era that has all but vanished due to the corporate landscape, is all I need to know to believe what he has to say. They’re already trying to downplay and dismiss the results before they’ve occurred.

What are the terms of the interview? Will it be in person in front of an audience, via webcast, in front of the burning reichstag, etc…

What are the terms of the interview?

Musk just wants it to air unedited. Which means no matter what they do, he would be able to claim it was edited if things don’t go his way and he ends up looking like (an even bigger) fool.

Just shows how stupid Elon is. Stewart is an accomplished interviewer, with the backup of being a comedian. Watch Stewart keep his composure after smashing his coffee cup the other night. He assessed the cut, laughed it off, and finished the monologue instantly. Elmo doesn’t have the composure to handle a problem like that.

Was real, they taped him up during the commercial to finish the interview. Probably just a minor cut, but at his age he’s probably on blood pressure, or heart meds, so small cuts bleed like crazy.

Do multiple cameras, but display them all continuously, and then do all the tricks people use to try to make it obvious no editing was done and put them in the foreground and background of all the angles.

Just keep his security goons away from the production facilities and equipment. In fact, they should hire three times the amount of security Musk has. Just remember, they have been deputized by the U.S. Marshall Service, so they have the power to arrest people.

I have only listened to the podcast for a year but holy shit i die not expect how much stewert softballs his guests and never argues anymore when they are spewing bullshit. I started getting agitated for example when the old white house press secretary came in saying “everything is fine, no crisis here, it’s really Obama’s fault that trump and musk are dismantling the government, dems need better press” and he just nods along. It’s so strange because I feel like that wasn’t the case 15 years ago or whatever.

The only one he pushed back on recently in my memory was Chris Christie.

I do not have high hopes for this upcoming one. It is going to be like Jake Paul vs mike Tyson, nobody wins and it is just for show.

And his appearance was so incredibly cringy. I have read through the half of that transcript on verge and omg dude literally has brain damage.

I have a bunch of highly functioning k addicts around me and it’s exactly the same way they speak when binging on K a bit too much. Just stammering and these random bleeps of out of context thoughts constantly seep into their conversations.

Jon would “win” if it happened, but it won’t matter.

After seeing Trump utterly dog walked across the stage in his debate performance and still win the election, I have lost any remaining faith that some great Aaron Soorkin-esque moment will change a fucking thing in this country.

It would be entertaining though; so that’ll be fun.

Here’s how it’s going to go down:

    • Jon will ask pointed questions.
    • Elmo will respond with rhetoric, lies, half-truths, incendiary nonsense, &/or dumb jokes.
    • Jon will call him out on his bullshit.
    • Elmo will respond with more rhetoric, lies, half-truths, incendiary nonsense, &/or dumb jokes.
    • Jon will be appalled at Musk’s lack of integrity, ethics, intelligence, or humility.
    • The next day, right-wing pundits will spin it as a victory for Musk - saying he made Stewart “speechless and dumbfounded” with his amazing performance.

Have you seen the current speaking ability of Musk? I’d be surprised if he produces a single coherent sentence.

I hope Jon Stewart really pushes him through his filler speech and reveals Musk as stupid as he actually is.

Tho I still dont think this will happen. Musk would have to be incredibly stupid to accept this, like even more stupid than he actually is.

I promise you Jon Stewart does not have a clause in any contracts stating he can’t continue working in his field (namely comedy writing).

He’s been in the game a long time and is at the very very top of his career right now. He already retired and went into advocating for 9/11 responders healthcare and veterans benefits. He’s only back to doing a show because we need him right now.
