Win in what way?
Just generally win
Oh, the iPad easily. It would get far more use by more people.
My only use case would be selling it.
I mean… if you try to use them as a hammer, the iPad’s gonna be more effective if you use the edge and not the front or back face. It’s made of fairly high grade aluminum.
But then again the thinkpad will probably still work after being hammered on
When you consider your freedom, the good old thinkpad is better. And even better if compatible with GNU Boot 😁
Depends on the contest. Running fruity OSes? iPad. Rebuilding civilization after the technopacalpse wipes out Apple? ThinkPad!
Judging a fish by his ability to climb trees. Ipads are great for taking notes or drawing, especially if you are on the fly.
Apple does have it’s use cases so does Gnu/Linux. Stop being so simple-minded.
Main usecase is
You can also buy them to proudly show an apple-shaped brand at your local Starbucks.
Ipads absolutely are powerful enough to work as real computers. They’re just hobbled by artificial restrictions in their OS. Comparing them to real computers to point that out is perfectly valid.
Exactly my point. Here you have a touchscreen computer with orders of magnitude faster processor, many times the memory but can only be used for Apple approved usages and you have a laptop past its sweet sixteen which can be used for anything you want and can be used as a fairly decent development device
Competing with a notepad and pen for hundreds of times more…
Yeah then buy that but stop raining on the parade just because you don’t enjoy advantages of digital note taking 🤷🏻
Performance wise the iPad wins, but on programming the Linux laptop wins
Also I don’t think the iPad was made for programming so there’s that too
Performance-wise the iPad can’t even use it due to the highly limited software
Neither can fight, so a boring draw. Still better than a Jake Paul fight.
