    A real American scam is believing that you need to monetize your hobbies. Any full time job should pay enough to sustain a person. Everyone deserves to have free time away from work to enjoy whatever they like without having to turn their free time into another income stream

      Lol that’s literally the definition of the ‘American Dream’, or at least it was.

      Anyone willing to work a full 40 hour week was supposed to be able to make a decent living in America. Seems like some time around Reagan things changed.

    Existence is nothing more than being god’s slaves. Because god wants us all in shitty jobs instead of following our passions, whatever they may be.

      I am actually monetizing my hobby and I love it. I guess you just need to love running a business as well?

    The older I get, the less energy I have to pursue my passions in my downtime. When I was young, it was easy. I’d cook all night learning new things (mostly tech). Now, I just wanna rest. I mournfully look at the books that I bought last summer with fun stuff I’d like to learn. Sigh.
