As I suspected, language has evolved to the point where Ohio is considered a synonym for toilet.
The meaning of Ohio as a slang term has resulted in me being able to say “I’m leaving Ohio because it’s gotten too Ohio for me”, which I find delightful

I was on BBS, Compuserve, and eventually AoL and others. I forget when I first saw it, but it felt later to me. It’s possible it just wasn’t popular when and where I was around and that meant I didn’t see it until much later, but I don’t remember it. I remember being confused the first time I saw it, wondering what it might stand for.

Maybe I am too young to have this opinion but I refuse to use emojis and only use emoticons, they feel more personal to me.
I’m probably just old but it’s always faster to type :) than it is to find the 🙂, same goes for every emoji really.
Also they convey slightly different emotions
