  • The majority of the voting population answers this question based on name recognition alone.

Yeah I read the article, that headline is almost misleading in its support for Harris if anything. AOC has the best net

NOT complain and whine that everything isn’t handed to us on a platter.

She’s in second place and we have 3 years to move her into first, that sounds worth a shot to me. But go ahead and throw your hands up in the air, tuck your tail, and say there’s nothing we can do.

I shouldn’t have to educate grown adults on shit this important they ought to desire to learn on their own. They should know who the hell AOC is JFC. So I’m still disgusted, just significantly less so. And like, I’ll inevitably try to promote AOC, but I don’t owe this country shit. I want to leave, I only can’t thus far due to money/resources.

  • I specifically remember the woman that complained that “female” was dehumanizing so that mostly tracks, but the issue with that perception is that people purchase male animals for breeding and people (men or women) who heard me using the same terminology never complained about the dehumanization of calling them males. I get that the social dynamics here are complicated of course. I suppose men typically are socialized to not care about being dehumanized or even perceive dehumanization as much. The asymmetry irks me.

I’ll repeat that I don’t use the terminology anymore for the sake of politeness but my thoughts remain nuanced on the matter. Where some see dehumanization, I see on the opposite end a coping mechanism in the form of a base level of romanticization. Implying we humans are free of our animal instincts or that we ought to be ashamed of the best aspects (IMO) of our animal nature.

Men who use the term “female” as a means to purposefully dehumanize are of course not only assholes but also annoying to me in the same way just inverted: I dislike debasing things that are neutral/positive for the sense of elitism or superiority. Or making something innocent and ordinary out to be crude and gross. I’ve never really related that well to men telling sex jokes for instance (and I’ve had some male friends who did that constantly and it annoyed me but I mostly just rolled my eyes at it).

I don’t like crudeness at the same level as romanticization because that crude attitude also implies a sacredness that they’re purposefully defiling. I don’t like the implication of existing sacredness OR the desire to get under people’s skin about it since that just contributes to the sense of taboo around sexuality and gender.

Some of these men call other men “males” as well. I used to call both genders by such “technical” terminology because I did not think it was offensive until a woman complained in a forum I frequented like 15 years ago.

TBH I feel annoyed that I can’t use those terms because I know some guys use the term to intentionally dehumanize specifically women and I am not that sort of guy. But also I really tend to embrace neutral/technical/clinical language a lot because of a general disdain for romantic thinking and language.

Things are not more than what they are.

  • Fascists are not empowered by political apathy

Fascists are empowered by political apathy in a first past the post election system. Which we have.

And its not just tankies. You guys are an influence but you aren’t the sole driver of this result of low turnout obviously.

This is something many clownishly-apolitical individuals that aren’t tankies understand and still choose not to vote because they also, like tankies, think both parties are the same but for more low brow selfish small minded reasons. I live in a deeply rural area and commute to a small city and I’ve encountered these morons first hand in both places. Typically these are poorly educated impoverished people who feel left behind by perceived elites (not just rich people but basically any people smart enough to work low paying white collar like myself). Who don’t realize they’re letting things get worse for them and now will end up materially worse off and even some of them will end up dead as a result.

And in so far that a person can deserve their own misfortune, they will. Because they either know or very much ought to know what was at stake and did not give a fuck.

I actually think most tankies will be fine though. You guys are educated enough that you’re probably not on average nearly as impoverished as these types. It’ll just be the dipshit apolitical underclass of people who will start feeling things get noticeably worse.

Maybe it wont be too late for them to be moved by their impending suffering and react to it in a productive way but at this point I’m kind of over it. I’m ambivalent at this point.

  • I’m too autistic for morals if I’m honest.

    I am also autistic.

And you used the word “unfair” in your previous post so you are not “too autistic” for morals. Or at least you aren’t against pretending you have them when they suit your argument.

You are now just embracing “might makes right” now that the elderly childless suckers got their pension’s rug pulled because otherwise its too financially inconvenient.

  • I mean, your morals here makes no sense to me. You are selectively ignoring some things.

Your father owed you. You did not choose to even exist, he and your mother ripped you into existence without your consent. The bare minimum is to try and pay back such an unpayable debt by providing you a good life.

The older people who choose not to have children don’t have that debt burden. They do not owe you or your father anything. They also did not choose to be born and do not deserve to suffer because they chose not to breed and kick the can of our meaningless existence down the road.

That said, those older people still contributed to society in their youth with their labor. Had they not done so your country would be worse or less developed. They labored under the expectation that they’d receive a certain amount of retirement via their pensions.

  • I mean, the difference is expectation. If you live in a country where you are expecting to get a pension and they rug pull on you last minute obviously you were spending on the basis of that expectation and are now doomed to misery and homelessness in old age due to no fault of their own.

Further, some countries wages and cost of living make retiring nearly impossible, child or no. But I guess that’s a separate concern.

The primary reason I don’t have a kid might be because of my ideology, but even if I was a pro-natalist I’d not dare have a kid unless I wanted drop into poverty. The US doesn’t give a fuck.
