Step 1 - Create a depression unlike we have ever seen and make people desperate for any job they can get.
Reminds me of something I read once. If you want to get out of work. Like you’re at work, and you really really don’t want to be there. You can get out with 4 words. You swallow your pride, walk into your bosses office, and proclaim “I shit my pants”
You will have the rest of the day off.
Really depends on what I am doing. Whatever I was previously doing has been been put on an indefinite pause until I can get new clothes and probably take a shower. But I have kids, so the day must go on.
But… But line. Line go up.
Youre telling me that exploiting the workers, making life horrible and expensive for the middle and lower class while giving tax breaks to the ultra wealthy makes the line not go up?
B… But line. Line go up!
I used to be really good at video games, but now I just don’t have the time. I remember being able to jump in any CS lobby and jump to the top of the server. I got kicked for supposedly cheating all the time. That was always a good feeling. Knowing that I’m kicking so much ass that people assume I must be cheating.
My crowning achievement is beating Super Ghouls and Ghosts - both times through (second time with the farie bracelet). This was using an original SNES, no save states or anything. Dedicated an entire summer of my teenage life to it. Game is hard, man.
Computers used to be a hobby but I turned that into a career. I’m a principal systems engineer and I like to think I’m good at what I do.
I got really into cooking, and it was maybe a hobby at some point, but now with a family it’s more of a necessity. A lot of the things I learned while cooking as a hobby turned into skills though. I’m not sure how to explain it, but like having cooking intuition. Knowing when to add more or less of something just by knowing. Also just being able to freestyle meals out of what is laying around or knowing what can be substituted with what or how to make ingredients out of other ingredients.
Hah. I just got my first one today. I immediately chalked it up to spam, but didn’t know it was so widespread. Hilarious.
I’m not sure if you’ve realized, but that means nothing. It has become abundantly clear that the law (and lawsuits) are used by the ruling class and not against them. When used against them, it doesn’t matter. They either ignore the fines, pay the pennies, tie it up in court, or in some other way get off scot free.
I’m all for protesting, but make no mistake, people will be made an example of, and it won’t be the oppressors.
That an corporations don’t care about their daily numbers unless they are trending. Like, people won’t buy stuff today, so they will just go buy the stuff tomorrow. Monthly and quarterly profits took no hit.
My favorite is probably the Drab breasted bamboo tyrant
Oh my fucking god. Thank you!
Somebody get Mike Lindell on the phone, I think we figured out a way to make America great again!
Just gotta say, I’m real happy I’m not the only one that still drops Homey D. Clown references.
Stray
Binding of Isaac Rebirth
Disco Elysium
Dark Souls Remastered (don’t think it was even on sale, but I have never played a souls game and was told this was a good place to start)
Basically a bunch of big hits that I never got around to. I’m starting with Stray, it’s relaxing and fun. I played a little Dark Souls, but I need to come back to that when I have more time to focus.
I was also looking at Death must Die. I played the shit out of Vampire Survivors, and I’ve heard DMD is more of the same.
Last big StamDeck game for me was Hades 2. Loved the original and 2 was just as fun. I know it’s not fully complete, but I unlocked everything available and upgraded most of the gear all the way. I can’t wait for the full release.
I’m on Lemmy.world because it’s the only instance I could make a account on the day Reddit shut down the API. All of the other popular instances had account creation stopped because of the flood of people.
I could probably make an account on another instance, but I’m pretty lazy. I honestly don’t know what the benefit of using another instance would be.
Sausage Link and the Meat Patties
Or the entire state of Vermont.
Literally Verde Monte
The green mountain state.
Oh man, that just reminded me that PB Crisps existed. Fuckin loved those things.
That makes me think of Lomo Saltado. It’s a beef and veggie stir fry you can get at Peruvian restaurants and considered a Peruvian dish. It’s delicious, one of my favorites. But it was actually invented by Chinese immigrants in Peru. So if you follow those same rules, if General Tsos was made by Chinese immigrants in Taiwan, then in other countries, it would be considered a Taiwanese dish. Or if was actually made it America it would be an American dish. Or is that all wrong and I should be able to get Lomo Saltado from a Chinese restaurant?
Doesn’t matter, it’s all delicious to me.
