  • I’m not a Python engineer.

Manager came and decreed that all of our perfectly fine cron jobs (both of them) need to go to Astro/Airflow because we should use it because of reasons he couldn’t articulate.

    Fine.

“As an experienced python engineer, blablabla, Dag, blablabla, Astro, prefer Astro over other imports, blablabla, errors as values, blablabla”.

With the tweaks and errors (including wrong imports) I had to redo it all from scratch anyway. LLM was good for the syntax though, like loops and function declaration.

  • Intrigued I bought a ~8000 pieces set from Bluebricks for 250 euro.

The quality of bricks is strictly worse than Lego - there’s no “click” when you put in place. No paper instruction. Small issues with building instructions pdf (e.g. brick in a wrong place). The bricks have random indentations from the manufacturing process. Lego also has some, but much less.

The set is fun to build, some of the techniques are more inventive than Lego, some are just meh.

For that price it’s a steal, but if only brick quality matters, based on The Astronomer’s Observatory, Lego is better, even if whenever they push the stickers at me I just want to go to Bilund and start slapping people all around.

  • I am not banned nor downvoted for telling people when they romanticize USSR or how USSR fucked my country.

I think I got banned from some trans group for calling their arrogance that I should care about every Dick and Harry enough to ask them about their pronouns.

I don’t give a fuck, will call you whatever you look like, and if it’s neither you’re gonna be called petal.

I have no clue where do you find the people you write about. Also, like most lemmy users I picked this instance at random.

  • No, but I’m banned from:

    • r/republican for asking if they have ever heard about besieged fortress syndrome
    • r/twoXchromosomes for telling a mod that she’s bullying a person who disagreed with her in a discussion about abuse - like an abuser would (the mod was trying to rally other people into joining her into cyberbulling)
    • r/menslib for writing that being a victim is not an excuse in a thread about a 20-something yo woman grooming young girls into porn (she herself too was groomed).
    • some political ones for “hate speech against Russians” - for cursing them and their invasion of Ukraine.
