“What do you think they [protesters] want?” Harris Faulkner of Fox News asked the president. “What do you think they need, right now, from you?”

Here was Trump’s answer, verbatim:

"Protesters for different reasons. You’re protesting also because, you know, they just didn’t know. I’ve watch - I watched very closely. Why are you here? They really weren’t able to say, but they were there for a reason, perhaps.

“But a lot of them really were there because they’re following the crowd. A lot of them were there because what we witnessed was a terrible thing. What we saw was a terrible thing. And we’ve seen it over the years. We haven’t, you know, this was one horrible example, but you’ve seen other terrible examples. You know that better than anybody who would know it. And I know it. I’ve seen it, too. I’ve seen it before I was president. I’ve seen it. I think it’s a shame. I think it’s a disgrace. And it’s got to stop.”

There are kind of credible rumors that he has dementia. Answers like that really make me believe those rumors - it is kind of unimaginable that the president of the United State seems to be unaware of mass protests against him everywhere in the country

Let’s be honest here: He was not normal in his first term, spoke weird even on the campaign trail and what he did as president was not really competent, either. And if you look at old footage from 2015 or 2016, yes, it has gotten worse.

Personally I think it’s been glaringly obvious since sometime during his first term that he’s not all there, and every time there is discussion about “whether” he has cognitive issues I am stunned that the discussion isn’t instead “he has cognitive issues, what do we do about it?”

I’ve never seen that video until today. I clicked on it waiting for the inevitable “the doctors were blown away, they’d never seen anyone score that good, my mental acuity is unprecedented it’s historys best mental acuity” and sure enough within 30 seconds lol

I’m not ecen convinced he knows where he is half the time.

Having someone this dysfunctional partially in charge of a country is dangerous and shouldn’t be allowed.

I’ve heard from many people that if I just took literally what he says then I won’t get his message. That I have to look at the meaning behind the exact words that he uses.

    And I’ve started doing that.

And I am even more confused than before

      It’s like religion

Say some vague shit without a clear meaning. Let people fill in their interpretations of it in their mind. They feel smart for “understanding”. They confuse the dopamine rush for admiration. Congratulations they are now addicted to your bullshit

The way he talks works exactly like an LLM tho. He just starts out and keeps talking based on what word would go well after the previous word without any coherent thought behind the answer.

LLMs have actually moved beyond that now. That might’ve been true in the GPT 3.5 days.

Computers keep getting smarter while Trump keeps getting stupider.

Remember when we were all laughing at George W Bush and the dumb shit he said? At least the fuck was concise rather than this embarrassment going on about how he used to tie an onion to his belt to scare off Mexicans or whatever he said.

Woah woah. That was because he lied about it and it was a breach of family values.

Nothing like our current president who only tells the truth and is all about family values. And holds the Bible right side up.

That was because he lied about it and it was a breach of family values. under oath while testifying before Congress as the defendant in a sexual harassment inquiry

Come on. Clinton was guilty of exactly what Starr charged him with. If he’d been convicted maybe it would have led to holding powerful politicians accountable and prevented someone like Trump from ever happening. Instead the Dems circled the wagons and spun it like he was being persecuted. People are still repeating that lie to this day.

What do you suppose would have happened to you or me if we’d perjured ourselves before Congress?

This out of touch response shows EXACTLY why these types of protests aren’t enough. Didn’t even get the point across to those in power that need to change.

I have had people directly tell me he isn’t mentally disabled when i have pointed out he is absolutely an incoherent rambling fool.

I heard him speak a few times, and i knew he was a complete idiot. He still got a second term. I cant comprehend this level of stupidity.

Maybe i am the dumb one?

Potentially, to both of us. But given Trump’s and his ardent supporters speech patterns and behavior, the odds are that they’re in the category of “too stupid to know they’re stupid”.

Genuinely sounds like a canned response for any protest if it were happening due to someone being killed by police or a school shooting. He might not have been told by his circle that people were even protesting him.

He doesn’t at all seem to know what the protests are supposedly about. “A lot of them were there because what we witnessed was a terrible thing”, what do you think “we” witnessed Trump? I see a few options here.

      • He has absolutely no idea about any of this. Either he’s being lied to by literally everyone around him, to try to control him like a puppet.
      • He is as demented as most sane people think, and has no clue what is happening, despite having been informed
      • He simply doesn’t give half a shit about any of it, because people who protest are peasnts to him, and don’t deserve to be part of his thought process.
      • It could be a combination of the above 3, not ruling that out either.

No matter, this piece of shit is destroying the world order, he’s destroying the world economy, and he’s destroying the lives of the american people.

Unfortunately he is the Fox News president, he always has been. The feedback loop of fox news to trump —> trump to Fox news information pipeline is like a small circle that takes 5 minutes to get through.

Bad idea pops up on Fox, Trump supports it. Bad idea pops up in trump brain, Fox supports it. Its hard to say whats chicken and egg at this point, but its obvious trump will not be seeing images of the protests this weekend in context to them being against him and his policies and henchmen.

Right now there is someone explaining to trump that these are his supporters flooding streets across the country.
