I wouldn’t go to the Philippines. Spanish and American colonization have made it trashy. Go on street view of your favorite map app and see a random town in the Philippines. Odds are you will see houses surrounded by junk everywhere. In Thailand it’s a bit harder to get a visa but the culture is still largely intact. I have lived much of my adult life in Japan and I have met and been friends with people from many countries. There are a lot of Filipinos and Thais here. The Thais are proud of where they’re from. The Filipinos I have met often lie about their origin and citizenship. They are embarrassed of their background. If you are an old man or even a young one, with no spouse, and want to seek a relationship with an adult woman, regardless of age gap, from one of these two countries, I recommend Thailand over Philippines. I’m also an atheist and from my perspective, people raised in Catholic or Christian majority cultures are much harder to get along with than people from Buddhist majority cultures. And don’t be a jerk. Don’t play with their hearts or dreams. Find a good one and marry her. She can get your social security survivor benefits when you die of old age.
