That’s why they want Greenland.
That’s why they want Greenland.
Most of these are not really a problem though, even less for the kind of psychos that run the EU. Sanctions can be lifted, and Ukraine shouldn’t be able to do much against both Russia and the EU. While renewables and nuclear are increasing, Russian energy could help until they are 100% ready. Voters won’t do much if they are told “see, the US is trying to scam us, and in these trying times we’ve struck a deal with Russia and you’ll be paying less for power and heat”.
The problem with striking a deal with Russia is that it’s not the most reliable partner right now (your 3rd point), but the people in charge can ignore the rest and have no problems sleeping.
Edit: this is not a defense of Russia but a critique of the powers that be in the EU.
The Steam Deck is… not significantly cheaper?
Maybe, but I already have a large game library and free online play, and can get new games for much cheaper.
And you can play online for free.
the loss of the free/cheap third spaces, lockdowns, and social media
I think that the growing push towards individualism and the dismantling of any kind of reciprocal relationship network are the main cause of this. I feel like years ago people could form sincere bonds and relationships but now everything is as atomised as possible and sincere interactions have been replaced with ironic performances to try to maintain as much distance as possible, even if unconsciously.
This obviously is great for the rich and powerful, so it’s encouraged in media, pop culture, workplace regulations and organization, etc.
Sorry but this is dumb. I am the one who decides if a label applies to me or not. I won’t call myself an anarchist because my beliefs are not described by this word. I will call myself a communist because it describes what I think is true, even if I need to specify (“I’m a communist but…”).
There’s no one telling me what I believe in, and if a label changes meaning over time or my views change and it no longer applies to my thinking I will just stop using it.
It’s the same when you use any other word to describe yourself. “I’m a musician” until I stop playing. “I’m not a painter” until I pick up a brush. “I’m long haired” until I cut my hair.
Doesn’t most of the world already work like this? I have to identify myself to vote in my country, it’s the obvious way to prevent people from voting more than one time.
He’s been a known union buster for a long time tho
I’ve never had a problem with it in Spain. What is different where you live? CGNAT?
Maybe that’s cause Russia hasn’t been communist in a long while.
Nope. The Nordic countries are still controlled by capitalists, they (akd most of western Europe as well) just have given the workers some welfare policies in order to appease them and stop any revolutionary ideas. It’s no coincidence that these policies were in place while the Eastern bloc was around and they began to dismantle the welfare state as soon as the USSR fell and they felt they could get away with it.
(Disclaimer: I’m not saying that the welfare state is evil, and that we’d be better with the shitty US way of doing things)
He’s right tho. The stuff in the meme are just things that happened under capitalism.
Let’s not whitewash capitalism by blaming its atrocities on fascism.
Fascism is the takeover of the state by the capitalists.
What. Capitalism is already the takeover of the state by capitalists. The state apparatus is just the means by which the dominant class exerts its power.
The Simpsons: hit & run, Shinobido, GoW, Destroy all humans.
I spent a ton of time playing the two towers, bit I don’t know if it has aged well.
Also, war of the monsters was campy and fun.
Nah. “Anti-democratic”, for the EU, is also anything left of van Der Leyden.
Yeah, and he went away not because they voted him out but thanks to Soviet weapons.
Because it checks if the version starts with the string “Windows 9*”, not wether the number is less than 9.
Lol not a chance. Maybe there’s been some work in the public sector, but remove Amazon and MS and you’ll remove the vast majority of companies.
The EU should push for their own cloud and “encourage” (ie “there’s a chance that in 5 years you won’t be able to use anything that’s not in the EU, better prepare”) companies and the public administration to migrate.
