The picture says “CEO” not “CEO of a billion dollar corporation” Nobody has explicitly said it’s about billion dollar corporations. Atleast not in this thread except for you right now.
If you can’t put two and two together with a meme posted online and what’s going on in the world you are living under a rock my dude and I question your IQ to run a business.
I’ve been nothing but polite and asked a simple, reasonable question. You, on the other hand, showed up with hostility, personal insults, and zero interest in an actual conversation. If calmly pointing out inconsistencies makes me “insufferable,” maybe that says more about you than it does about me.
And I told you. I showed you replies where people said you are not the problem, then you diverted to that pedantic BS. My “hostility” is because you are an obvious troll. When people respond to your comment you pivot somewhere else. But since it needs to be spelled out for you.
The public discourse for a while, seriously like 8 months now you are under a rock, has been an opposition to large corporations that are monopolies in their industries. They leave consumers with no options and force decisions on people ultimately harming them for greed, whether it be draining their paychecks or actually killing them. People believe, and this is a hot take, murder is bad. But there are no consequences for their actions. You can’t go somewhere else. They own everything. You can’t arrest them. They spend their money on buying the law aka lobbying. So people have resorted to the eye for an eye mentality. These memes are a play on that.
Now the meme itself is talking about a target season. And since you like everything to be explicit so much. Acccctuaallllly there is no mention of hurting anyone in this meme. A target could also be “egging their house, launching a protest on their front lawn”. Am I stupid enough to think that? Nah. But you’re the one who hates assuming things.
I’m not a troll - I’m a provocateur. There’s a subtle difference.
I know it’s meant to not be about small businesses, but it also doesn’t explicitly say that. Like I mentioned in another comment, I’ve similarly asked people whether “ACAB” actually refers to literally all cops or if there are exceptions, and the answers I’ve gotten have been pretty clear: no exceptions. So forgive me for not extending a charitable interpretation to other sweeping generalizations I see here.
People here are quite openly advocating for CEOs, billionaires, rich people, or even conservatives to be “Luigi’d” and it’s honestly rare to see anyone caveat those statements by clarifying which ones they’re actually talking about.
If you’re so reluctant to actually try and answer the straightforward question I asked, then why bother replying at all? What are you trying to achieve with these evasive, facetious responses?
Just because you like to put “CEO” on your LinkedIn doesn’t actually make you one being talked about. It’s talking about CEOs of large companies who are responsible for destroying countless lives.
When you start wielding wealth and resources as a weapon against humanity, then you are the problem. In a just society, these people would simply not exist, or at least, we’d have the means to quickly remove them from power if they somehow found a means to abuse society. However, we do not live in a just society, or one where justice is actually a guiding principle. We live in a capitalist society that enforces its will through violence, and only truly responds to violence. There is a very, very good reason that Luigi struck such a chord with so many people.
Then maybe the people spreading this meme should be a bit more specific with their messaging, because all I’m hearing is “CEO bad” - and yeah, I feel somewhat threatened by that, since technically it applies to me too, even though I don’t really consider myself one in practice.
If I got murdered and the headline read “CEO killed,” I can easily imagine the cheering in places like Lemmy, where nuance often seems to go out the window.
What’s the nuance I’m supposedly missing here? I’ve criticized the “ACAB” slogan before and asked people directly if they truly mean every single cop without exception - and more than once, the answer has been yes. So excuse me if I’m not feeling especially charitable in how I interpret a meme that’s already completely unreasonable to begin with, no matter how you read it.
Oh, honey. You’re not nearly a big enough fish to warrant being taken out. This is about the CEOs of large, harmful corporations that regularly fuck everyone over with pure greed, not the CEO of a random construction business.
It’s right there, you’re replying to the nuance, you dingus. He’s literally adding nuance and you reply “oh well I guess there’s no nuance then!” How stupid are you?
Someone want to explain why I should be murdered for running my own construction business?
Are you a multi-millionaire stealing from, and causing the deaths of many of your customers? If not, then you’re not even noticeable…
Is your small construction business even publicly traded, or do you not understand what a CEO is?
Either way, you are clearly getting your panties in a bunch over nothing. Noone on this side is against small businesses.
Aww look he thinks it’s about him! So cute, poor little guy with a victim complex
Victim harder in your edit. No one said they are coming after you. People have explicitly said billion dollar corporations.
The picture says “CEO” not “CEO of a billion dollar corporation” Nobody has explicitly said it’s about billion dollar corporations. Atleast not in this thread except for you right now.
I think maybe you need to understand nuance.
Are you even reading the replies to you?
“You’re not big enough to warrant…”
“Your cute little business…”
What part of these replies do you not comprehend?
You’re the one who said explicitly - I think you meant implicitly.
Jesus you must be insufferable as a boss.
“Well acccctuaallllly…”

If it’s your business, change your title to something other than CEO. Problem solved!
I’m looking for answers, not solutions.
So you’re not actually worried that people want to harm you for being a CEO. There’s the answer.
If you’re so reluctant to actually try and answer the straightforward question I asked, then why bother replying at all? What are you trying to achieve with these evasive, facetious responses?
Just having fun taunting sea lions.
Ha! There’s a name for this? This hits the nail on the head.

Bro, nuance is for serious discussion and Monty Python sketches, not cheap jokes like OP.
It’s funny that you’re complaining about a lack of nuance when being completely unable to discern it yourself based on your reaction to the meme.
What’s the nuance I’m supposedly missing here? I’ve criticized the “ACAB” slogan before and asked people directly if they truly mean every single cop without exception - and more than once, the answer has been yes. I don’t see such nuance in any of this discussion.
It’s right there, you’re replying to the nuance, you dingus. He’s literally adding nuance and you reply “oh well I guess there’s no nuance then!” How stupid are you?
Are you a wizard?
do you regularly fuck over your employees/clientele?
Mhmm they haven’t replied. I guess they do. Equality for some is oppression for others.
I’m getting the vibes they do, given how defensive they are getting over a subject not even in their zip code.
Lol. You think it’s about you and your cute little “business”.
And why are you being so dismissive of my “business” then if it’s not even about me? Seriously. Please explain yourself.
Because you’re not the problem so you’re not the target. The world isn’t always about you.
If I’m not the problem, then why are you here insulting me and my “cute little business” instead of actually answering my question?
Because you’re a big boy and don’t need to be pandered to.
If you’re not using your company to kill Americans for shareholder profit, why would you think it’s about you?
Because you come off as someone who thinks the world is about them. So they are being insulting at the same time explaining you are not the problem.
